2009 is the year of the Linux desktop!!!

"2009 is the year of the Linux desktop!!!" - Installed Fedora 10 on Dell laptop - mouse cursor incredibly slow when using trackpad; set acceleration and speed to max, not much better - random automatic "mouse button" clicks being inserted by trackpad - screen resolution set to highest, which is good - incredibly slow scrolling in firefox - keypresses sometimes don't register unless I wait 1s between pressing each key installed gsynaptic (yes, it's obvious what this does right?!) - fixes trackpad issues (had to hack xorg.conf) disable "bounce keys" ignore fast duplicate keypresses - fixes missing keypresses installed nvidia binary drivers - fixes slow scroll but now I'm stuck at 640x480 (hacked xorg.conf but no change) I repeat "2009 is the year of the Linux desktop!!!" Apologies for the badly written rant - the subject doesn't deserve proper spelling and grammar. Here endeth my love affair with desktop linux - I'm buying a Mac

This rocks!

Can't believe I haven't already posted this; guess Facebook is too convenient. Simply put, this rocks: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/heroes+of+our+time/video/x63f5p_dragonforceheroes-of-our-time_music Buy it! :)
The end is nigh Microsoft has reached an all new low: Songsmith ad Sure, the technology might be clever but the music it produces and the commercial are god-awful. I would be embarassed if I was in any way associated with this commercial. Fire the lot of 'em!
